Acne Free
There are many types of skin problems that affect people around the world but the most common is acne and whilst it may seem to be a teenage condition, it would be a mistake to believe that adults cannot suffer with it as well. In fact nearly 90 percent of people suffer from acne sometime in their lifetime and whilst acne is dreaded, it usually shows up during our teenage years and fortunately, many people outgrow it.
Our sebaceous glands produce oil called sebum which fouls up the hair follicles and contributes to acne but this is not the only substance responsible. Acne seems to be a condition that is not necessarily a natural one and something that past generations did not suffer with.
Fortunately acne can be treated and one off the many causes of this condition is the hormone adjustments made when a person is growing up although it can also be as a result of makeup that has not been removed fully or pollution. Of course there are other reasons that can contribute to the formation of acne including the poor diet that most people exist on nowadays which is full of reprocessed, fast foods that are high in sugar.

Sometimes when acne is difficult to cure, a dermatologist will suggest a different type of medication which is more effective but may require more time to work. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed. Cleanliness is important, especially beneath the fingernails where germs and bacteria can be found and infect the already sensitive skin condition by scratching.
Germs and bacteria are not normally seen by the naked eye so just because the fingernails look clean does not actually mean they are. This is why an acne sufferer should avoid any direct contact between their hand and the blemished area.
Research has shown that if your parents had acne, you’ll probably have it as well and very few people have perfect skin, so it is a very common skin disorder among almost every single person. The most likely scenario is that you will contact acne while you are young probably around puberty.
Whilst opinions vary on the subject, it cannot hurt to contact a dermatologist if you are having a problem with acne or other skin complaint. The information here is not designed to replace the advice given by a doctor, dermatologist or other medical professional.
