Acne Medicine

There are many types of skin problems that affect people around the world but the most common is acne and whilst it may seem to be a teenage condition, it would be a mistake to believe that adults cannot suffer with it as well. In fact nearly 90 percent of people suffer from acne sometime in their lifetime and whilst acne is dreaded, it usually shows up during our teenage years and fortunately, many people outgrow it.

Our sebaceous glands produce oil called sebum which fouls up the hair follicles and contributes to acne but this is not the only substance responsible. The oil clogged inside the pore, not on the outside of the skin is what makes a pimple although acne is more of a contemporary problem and not a condition people in the past generally had to worry about.

Fortunately acne can be treated and one off the many causes of this condition is the hormone adjustments made when a person is growing up although it can also be as a result of makeup that has not been removed fully or pollution. Many other factors contribute to the formation of acne and some debate that diet impacts the formation of acne, caused by reprocessed foods, junk foods, and sugars this contemporary society eats every day.

Acne Medicine...

When people have more stubborn cases of acne it is left to a dermatologist to prescribe a stronger remedy which may require a longer period of use. When medication is prescribed, normally the doctor involved will want to see the patient to ensure the acne is clearing according to plan and decide whether to use more extreme methods. During this time in particular it is important to ensure that fingernails are cleaned thoroughly and regularly as they harbor dirt, germs and bacteria that can aggravate the condition.

This means that fingernails need to be kept clean and not dismissed because they look clean as almost all bacteria and germs are invisible to the naked human eye. It is for this very reason that anyone who suffers with acne should not touch their acne with their bare hands.

With ninety percent of people having acne at some stage in their life it is easy to see people with perfect skin are rare and current studies are now indicating that acne may well be hereditary. Although the likelihood is that you will suffer from acne during your years at school and college.

If necessary, acne sufferers should consult a dermatologist or qualified physician for acne treatment. This article is based on information readily available but should be used as a guide only, so if you are unsure, contact a medical professional about your condition.
