Male Adult Acne
For the many millions of people worldwide who suffer with acne, the fact that it is the most common of all skin complaints is no consolation and it is not solely a condition suffered by young people. The figures speak for themselves with a massive nine out of every ten people having the complaint at some time in their lives.
Whilst the naturally occurring oil we produce called sebum does in fact clog the hair follicles, it is not the only substance to blame for the condition of acne and neither is oily skin either. It is this oil which is trapped inside the pores which creates the recognizable pimple but this seems to be a more modern condition amongst the population.
But the clogged pores which are the main cause of acne can also be the result of contemporary substances like cosmetics, pollution and even the hormone adjustments many young people go through. Many other factors contribute to the formation of acne and some debate that diet impacts the formation of acne, caused by reprocessed foods, junk foods, and sugars this contemporary society eats every day.

For a recurring or severe case of acne, many sufferers turn to a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment and in most cases, a prescribed routine and medication can help to treat acne. Usually, follow-up visits will be necessary to that the acne is being cured without further intervention being required. Cleanliness is important, especially beneath the fingernails where germs and bacteria can be found and infect the already sensitive skin condition by scratching.
Unfortunately just because fingernails look clean does not mean they are, and as bacteria are usually invisible to the naked eye, there is no guarantee that an infection cannot be passed on. So wherever possible, it is advisable to keep the hands, especially fingernails away from any acne spots.
Unfortunately, acne does seem to have a hereditary link so if you mother and father had acne ten you will also probably suffer as well, bearing in mind that the number of individuals with perfect skin in the world is very low. Although the likelihood is that you will suffer from acne during your years at school and college.
Whilst opinions vary on the subject, it cannot hurt to contact a dermatologist if you are having a problem with acne or other skin complaint. The information here is not designed to replace the advice given by a doctor, dermatologist or other medical professional.
